It's way too many comments to read all of them but did you guys try to put the gloves together. Maybe the thickness of them together might slow the ball down or even be able to stop it. Hi, I believe that the so called "fire", on 1 of the occasions, was the simple effect of a static discharge i.e.: A Spark. The build up of the static electric energy within the ball happened during the friction of the ball going through the tube. So, I recently came across an interesting picture, of a 12inch thick piece of metal that was hit by a 1/2lb piece of plastic in space. I'm sure you've seen the photo. and your cannon here gave me an idea. could you create a vacuum chamber in which the projectile is shot into. Meaning the projectile would be traveling through a space with no air, similar to space (or as close as we can get it). This, done with the same vacuum propelled system you have here, could possibly achieve record speeds. ... Maybe? Fastest man made object? possibly surpassing the rail gun cannon for the navy. That in itself would also be a cool project.

Due to the date of the video, I don't know if saying this now is gonna be relevant, but I think the fire did have to do something with the type of the glove. The first glove was mesh like shaped and let the compressed air in front of the baseball go through partially, meanwhile the second glove was kind of "hermetic" and didn't let it pass, so the air caught inbetween the two objects ignited and the material of the glove was also reactive to this heat partially. I think it was like when objects enter the atmosphere compression effect, but in a much shorter distance. Edit: Also just saw it again, and in the 9 gloves shot, there looks like there's a fire frame from the first glove (which is not the mesh one) too even from the side view.

@ the bike - the saddle is too low for both of them. Rather than being able to stand flat flooded on the ground, it needs to be the ball of the foot. Then their range of motion should be more optimal, with a more extended knee on the down peddle and not a horizontal knee on the top of the peddling motion. If you dont, the motion gets cramped and its harder to maintain balance. In my Dutch opinion, the helmets are overblown. You dont really damage the head, but rather the legs or arms. You need to learn to let go of the steer to catch yourself though. Early age cycle practice in the grass will do that; even before they ride on concrete.
